Commodity hardware capacities are skyrocketing, hardware virtualization is becoming ubiquitous and clouds are growing in popularity. At the same time, Java runtimes and frameworks still face challenges in providing application responsiveness, consistency and scale, making it hard to effectively utilize modern hardware platforms. In this session we will explore new deployment paradigms which can dramatically improve application metrics and accelerate the adoption of virtualization in production applications.

You will learn:

  • How to deploy existing applications on virtualized platforms to improve responsiveness, scale and throughput.
  • How to completely solve the garbage collection problems and unleash the power of abundant commodity memory.
  • How new opportunities in application architecture can leverage elastic, virtualized and cloud-ready platforms.

You can go to http://www.infoq.com/interviews/gil-tene-azul-zing to see an interview with Gil about Azul's latest work.

A big thank you to AzulSystems for sponsoring our meeting and PROS Pricing for providing meeting space!
